Two young visitors to San Francisco's de Young Museum's 'Revelations' Exhibit in 2018. During the 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrations, the NorcalMLK Foundation partnered with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco to present a special program and free day, where over 7,000 visitors attended to visit and take part in a day of special activities and gallery views.

Each year, area museums provide complimentary free admission on MLK Day. The Museum of the African Diaspora, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Gallery, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum (for 18 and under), each year provides attendees with free museum experiences.
